Apple started it first or should I say, Apple was the one made it popular, removing headphone jack from its iPhone back in 2016 and then the following years, more and more smartphone manufacturers are following Apple’s move to also remove headphone jack from their line of smartphone – even those that initially mocked Apple on doing so. So here we are today, living in a headphone jack-less smartphone age.
But what if you still want to use your beloved wired headphone in this headphone jack-less smartphone era? Well, here are ways and alternatives you can do to keep using your wired headphone on today headphone jack-less smartphone.
Here’s how you can keep using your Wired Headphone on your Smartphone without headphone jack
A) The easiest way: Get the adapter
Depends on what your smartphone is (iPhone or Android), the easiest way is to get the adapter from charging port to headphone jack (it’s lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter for iPhone or USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter for Android phones). While this is the easiest way, but there are 2 common issues: 1) You lost the adapter 2) You can’t use the adapter while charging your phone. While the latter, there’s a fix for it (especially for Android phones), but both issues are sucks. Hence I do recommend you to go with the second alternative – the best way, read below.
Anyway, in case you need the adapter, here you go.

B) The best way: Make your wired headphone wireless
Yes, you read it right. Make your existing wired headphone to be wireless. Don’t worry, you won’t need to break open your headphone, you just need to get this Bluetooth to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter to make it wireless. Unlike the previous way – using charging port adapter – where you typically either lost the adapter or can’t use it while charging, using this Bluetooth adapter you won’t lose (or rarely use) the adapter – reason because you’ll keep the adapter plugged in and using Bluetooth to connect to multiple devices – and the best is you can still use it while charging your phone.
This is what I’m talking about:
