Delta emulator is one of the best emulator out there for iPhone and iPad that emulates many retro game console. As of when this article is written, Delta emulator supports Nintendo / Famicom (in short: NES), Super Nintendo / Super Famicom (in short: SNES), Nintendo 64 (in short: N64), Game Boy (in short: GB), Game Boy Color (in short: GBC), Game Boy Advance (in short: GBA), Nintendo DS (in short: NDS).

In this article, I walk you through how you can import games into your iPhone, so that you can play them with Delta emulator. Don’t worry, the steps are super easy to do.

Type of games supported by Delta Emulator
As of when this article is written, these are the retro games console and handhelds that Delta emulator supports and the supported extensions. In case you have games with unsupported extensions, refer to “How to import games into iPhone & iPad using computer” section below.

How to import games into iPhone & iPad without computer
Use this method if you have your game repository that’s easily reachable directly from your iPhone’s browser. For legal reasons and for respecting game developers and publishers out there, please use your own game in your own game repository.
1) On your iPhone, using Safari, download the games into your iPhone. Set the Safari default download folder using the step here: Set Default download folder on Safari at JILAXZONE.
2) Once downloaded, go to Files app and navigate to the download folder.
3) Ensure the game you downloaded has the file extension that match with one of the supported extensions mentioned on the table above (refer to table inside “Type of games supported by Delta Emulator” section). In case the game file extension is in .zip format, you can just tap the file, iOS will unzip it for you. However in case the game file extension is in .7z or .rar or .tar.gz, proceed to “How to import games into iPhone & iPad using computer” section.
4) Open Delta emulator. Tap “+” button, then choose “Files”. Navigate to the download folder and tap on the game you want to import into Delta emulator.
The game shall be added into Delta emulator on the respective tabs (NES game into NES section tab, SNES game into SNES section tab and so on).
How to import games into iPhone & iPad using computer
Use this method if you have games that are available only on your local computer folders / storages or if you have games with unsupported extensions, such as .7z, .rar, .tar.gz. For legal reasons and for respecting game developers and publishers out there, please only only import games that you owned personally.
| Prerequisites: 1) To have iTunes installed. Download link: iTunes at Apple. 2) To have 7zip installed. Download link: 7zip at 7-zip.org. |
Do the following steps only if you have games with unsupported extensions:
1) Open 7zip File Manager, navigate to the folder where you put the game.
2) Click on “Extract”. Choose the target extraction folder and click “OK”.
Check the extracted game file(s), ensure now they are in one of the supported extensions. Continue to the next section, once you managed to extracted the game and found the game with supported extensions.
Do the following steps to import your games to your iPhone & iPad via iTunes:
1) Open iTunes.
2) Plug in your iPhone / iPad to iTunes.
3) Click on the iPhone / iPad icon inside iTunes (usually the icon is next to “Music”).
4) On the left menu, click on “File Sharing” and click on “Delta”.
5) Click “Add File…”, navigate to the folder where you put the game file(s) and click “Open”. The game shall be added into “Delta”. Repeat this step for as many as you like to add more games into “Delta”.
6) Now on your iPhone / iPad, open Delta emulator. Tap “+” button, then choose “Files”. Navigate to the “On my iPhone” > “Delta” folder and tap on the game you want to import into Delta emulator.
The game shall be added into Delta emulator on the respective tabs (NES game into NES section tab, SNES game into SNES section tab and so on).
Bring it all together
