Say, you are going to bed already but you still doesn’t want to just fall asleep without doing anything, and instead choose to listen to music or podcast or watch Netflix or some YouTube videos. However you don’t want them to keep playing all night even after you fall asleep. If you have the same or similar scenario, then follow my tip below to stop your iPhone from playing any media continously.
Here’s how to stop iPhone any app from playing after a certain time
Follow these simple steps to set timer that will stop your iPhone from continously playing after the timer runs out of time. Here’s how you can do that.
Step 1) On your iPhone, open the Clock app.
Step 2) Inside Clock app, tap “Timer” tab at the bottom right of the screen.
Step 3) Set the timer as you like – E.g.: You want the iPhone to stop playing after 1 hour, then set to 1 hour.
Step 4) Tap on “When Timer Ends” and choose “Stop Playing”. It’s located at the very bottom of the list, so keep scrolling till reach the bottom of the screen.
Step 5) Tap on “Set” to confirm the changes you are making – in this case Stop playing after certain time.
Step 6) Now click “Start” to start the timer.
Once you have clicked Start, you can open any apps and play any media: movie, show, music, podcast or anything. They will stop playing once the timer ends (or reaches zero).
Bring it all together
With this iPhone tip to set timer to stop playing any media, you can now limit the amount of time your iPhone will continously play the media. Should you still need to play after the timer ends, you can redo the steps above to create another timer. Doing this, in the case of you falling asleep, your iPhone doesn’t need to continuously playing the movies or music all night long.
