Have both Android smartphone or tablet and iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and often use them to play games – especially games that require controller to work better? While there are many great game controllers out there, but many of them are working on either platform only – works well with Android but doesn’t work with iOS / iPadOS platform and vice versa – works well with iOS & iPadOS but doesn’t work with Android. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered here. I have recommendation for you on list of controllers that work on both Android and iOS / iPadOS platforms.

List of Game Controllers that works on Android & iOS / iPadOS
If you can get a controller that works great on both Android and iOS / iPadOS platform, why not?! Not only, it saves you from the hassle of keep changing the controller and get used to the other controller, but also, getting a controller that works great on both platforms will also save your money, so you can either invest it or spend it elsewhere. Here they are the list.
FYI, included on the list are only those that works straight away with both Android & iPhone or iPad without any use of workarounds. I also included the link to purchase them as well – just in case you need it.

| PS4 DualShock | While DualSense is the latest PlayStation controller, but doesn’t mean DualShock 4 is bad. | Xbox One Wireless Controller | This is the previous generation of Xbox Controller. Although previous generation, it’s still a great controller to use with your Xbox One (of course!) as well as Windows PC, Android and iOS. This controller is recommended for those with big hands. The main controller appeal is the fact that it’s much cheaper than the Xbox Series X|S wireless controller. Here’s how to pair the game controller to your Android and your iPhone / iPad
Depends on which game controller you are getting or using, here’s how to pair the controller to your Android, iPhone or iPad.
For Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One Wireless Controller
1) Turn on Xbox Series X|S wireless controller in pairing mode. Press and hold the PAIR button (Microsoft called it as wireless enrollment button, the button is located on the top of the controller, on top of the Xbox button) on the Xbox wireless controller until the Xbox button starts blinking / flashing.
2) On Android / iPhone / iPad, turn Bluetooth on. Now on your device, go to Settings > Bluetooth, turn the Bluetooth ON.
3) Connect to Xbox wireless controller. Let the Android / iPhone / iPad scan the nearby Bluetooth device, once appear, tap on Xbox Wireless Controller to start pairing.
For PS5 DualSense Controller
1) Turn on PS5 DualSense wireless controller in pairing mode. Press and hold the PS button and CREATE button (button located on the left side of the touchpad, on top of the D-Pad ) on the PS5 DualSense controller at the same time until the touchpad starts blinking / flashing.
2) On Android / iPhone / iPad, turn Bluetooth on. Now on your device, go to Settings > Bluetooth, turn the Bluetooth ON.
3) Connect to PS5 DualSense controller. Let the Android / iPhone / iPad scan the nearby Bluetooth device, once appear, tap on DualSense Wireless Controller to start pairing.
For PS4 DualShock Controller
1) Turn on PS4 DualShock controller in pairing mode. Press and hold the SHARE button and PS button. Hold both buttons for about 10 seconds until you see the light bar is flashing white.
2) On Android / iPhone / iPad, turn Bluetooth on. Now on your device, go to Settings > Bluetooth, turn the Bluetooth ON.
3) Connect to PS4 DualShock controller. Let the Android / iPhone / iPad scan the nearby Bluetooth device, once appear, tap on DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller to start pairing.
Bring it all together
So now you get the recommendation list of game controller that works out-of-the-box with Android as well as with iPhone or iPad, get one that suits you the best. For my case, I got a DualShock 4 controller to play on both my Pixel 3 as well as on my iPhone – not only it best fits in my hand but also cheaper compared to the brand new PS5 DualSense controller.
