Here’s how you can convert your SingTel Prepaid SIM Card into SingTel GOMO for FREE

Follow these steps to get your SingTel prepaid number converted into SingTel GOMO for $0 a.k.a FREE.

Step 1) Go to SingTel shop

You can go to any SingTel shop that provide conversion services. Use the following SingTel store locator to find nearest SingTel shop around you: SingTel Shop Locator.

Step 2) Tell them you want SingTel GOMO

Bring along your SingTel prepaid SIM card, together with IC/Passport. Tell the person attending you that you want to convert into SingTel GOMO.

They will start the procedure to convert your SingTel prepaid SIM Card into SingTel postpaid SIM Card. Unfortunately at the time this article is written, there’s no direct way to convert your SingTel prepaid into SingTel GOMO, so you need to first convert your SingTel prepaid into SingTel Postpaid. Since this is only temporary, tell them to give you the most basic SingTel postpaid plan. At the end of billing cycle, you’ll be charged a minimum fee (which you can waive – see the subsequent steps).

Step 3) Then register for SingTel GOMO

Do this step only after you get signal on your new SingTel postpaid. If you have not got any signal from SingTel postpaid (means you are still getting Signal from your SingTel prepaid), then hold on. Do not attempt to do this step yet.

SingTel GOMO registration unfortunately can’t be done offline (via SingTel shop), you have to register SingTel GOMO online (at least this what happened at the time this article is written).

Once you get SingTel postpaid signal (by inserting your SingTel Postpaid SIM Card into your phone and get the SingTel signal), then follow these:

a) Open SingTel GOMO link: SingTel GOMO Number Conversion.

b) Choose “KEEP MY EXISTING NUMBER”. Then follow the remaining steps as instructed on the screen.

Step 4) Activate SingTel GOMO

Within 4 days of successful application, your SingTel GOMO SIM Card will arrive (either by post or by collection). Activate it by inserting SingTel GOMO SIM Card into your phone. Ensure you get SingTel GOMO signal (shown on your phone screen as “SingTel”).

Step 5) Then ask waiver for your SingTel Postpaid

Do this step only after you receive the billing from SingTel for your SingTel postpaid SIM card.

You can either use this link: SingTel Account and login or this link: SingTel Billing Help to ask a waiver.

That’s it.

Bring it all together

does this work the same if wanting to convert to vivifi?

    • October 4, 2022 at 7:11 am

      Hi Cheryl,

Unfortunately, converting for free is only applicable to Singtel GOMO since they are one company.
But there’s a (long and quite troublesome) way to do it for free.
You need to first convert your Prepaid SingTel into Postpaid Singtel, then go into ViViFi.

After receiving the singtel postpaid card, instead of registering for gomo, will i be charged if I port out to another telco from here and how much will this be?

      Hi Ch,

Unfortunately, I never tried it myself. But what I did try was this: Prepaid SingTel > Postpaid SingTel > SingTel GOMO > SIMBA. All is free.
So if you don’t want to take risk, just follow what I have been doing – convert first to SingTel GOMO, then convert again to something else.
FYI, in case it matters, I didn’t straight away switch from SingTel GOMO to SIMBA but enjoying using SingTel GOMO first for 3 months (if I remembered correctly), then switch to SIMBA.

Hi! May I know the reception for simba? How is your experience with simba as compared to Gomo?

    • January 18, 2023 at 12:34 pm

      Hi Kat,

Sorry for my long reply. SIMBA was good on most places, except when you are inside some of the buildings, especially office building. Some of them have not carried SIMBA network.
Other than that, SIMBA is pretty good.

Hi there! I chanced upon your article while searching for Singtel prepaid to postpaid conversion.

Unfortunately as of today (12 Feb), conversion from prepaid to postpaid will require 1 year contractual period as Singtel will convert to No Sim plan which has 1 year contractual period.

found out about this when I’m at Singtel shop and confirmed with Singtel via their WhatsApp.

Not very ethical in my opinion as this restricts consumers from switching telco and no sim cheapest plan is around $30.

      Hi Brandon,

Do you mention your intention to jump to GOMO instead of SingTel Postpaid?

  • March 14, 2023 at 8:52 am

Should have read the comments, I’m trying to waive off my fees and the exact same thing happened – being charged $30 for the conversion. Should have stuck to the YAY monthly plan on Singtel.
