On Weekend and/or on holiday and looking for some great and recommended Beat ‘Em Up games to play? Well, you are on the right place. On this part 4 of the article related to OpenBOR games, I have summarized plenty of OpenBOR games and tested them on my own so you don’t have to waste your time going through all the bad/basic ones. Games on the list here, they are not just a game, but good, great and even amazing fan-made games!

OpenBOR? Tell me what it is!

Just in case you ended up on this page but not knowing what is OpenBOR, it’s basically an open source game engine, mainly for Beat ‘Em Up games, thus the name “OpenBOR” – short for “Open Beats Of Rage” where Beats Of Rage is the first game to use this open source game engine, a 2D side-scroller beat ’em up game inspired by Street Of Rage.

Controller Recommendation

Playing Beat ‘Em Up games is always better with controller!

While you can always use the keyboard / touchscreen to play the games, but for greater fun and enjoyment, I would recommend you to play the games with the Controller using physical buttons – so the experience is (almost) the same as the original. Just in case you need recommendation, here they are. I am personally using Nimbus and DualShock 4 to play the games.

Game descriptionInspired by Konami’s Castlevania, Silver Night’s Crusaders is an epic metroidvania fan game. However, unlike Castlevania where there’s only 1 player to play the game, in Silver Night’s Crusaders, you can play 2 players co-op. How great that is?

Story begins when there were rumors about several young women went missing. It wasn’t until one young lady from noble family also went missing, only the church took action by sending their Paladins. Play the game as either the Paladins or the witch from Silven Moon Clan.

5) Street Of Rage X

Game descriptionThe 3 classic Street of Rage games combined into 1 game and added effects from Street of Rage 4 (or even the effects created originally from this game itself) with some other enhancements and extras and that is Street of Rage X. The latest Street of Rage mod and iteration by Kratus.

Anyway, if you were watching Sega Power Surge event and waiting for Street of Rage Revolution, I would highly recommend you to play this game while waiting for the latest masterpiece to come out.
Lots of settings combination that you can choose from (E.g.: when jumping, you can use SOR2 style, however while blocking attack, you can use SOR3 style). Play and beat the 1st 3 games to unlock more contents.
